MISSIONARY REPORT

Greetings dear brothers. We offer our most sincere gratitude for your financial support to our missionary work. I am also thankful to our Lord because on the 20th of March He allowed me to live through another year of life. We could not celebrate it but God allowed us to be in company of my mother who came to visit from Huátulco.

We love you and pray for each one of you because thanks to you we can preach in the Zoque (Olmeca) unreached and little known region forgotten by the government and ignored by many social groups, given that they don’t show discontent because they were always slaves of other ethnic groups as well as the mesitzos. They are mainly catholic or Adventist people that resist the Gospel.

We also finished the New Testament recorded edition in the Ch’ol language. The translators who are also Cho’les, finished the Bible revision in order for it to be printed again and for possibly both the audio and written format to be published by the Bible Society. Thanks to the Lord, we finished the bible manual and we have uploaded it to the internet so that it can be available for anyone to be able to record in another ethnic language. It was a hard task but we finished it. This manual, which we had been working on since October of last year, was done in Spanish and Ch’ol and is divided into Biblical characters to record the New Testament in a narrative form. Please help us to pray for our assistance in the Jesus movie recording project in the Guerrero Náhuatl language, which is currently delayed.

By our own initiative, we want to start recording the Zoque praise songs because we have learned how to do such work. But we need a working computer and a special program amongst many other things which include a projector to show Christian movies in the surrounding areas, given that this opens a lot of doors and it is our desire to open a shelter home in that place.

We want to inform you that there have been many decisions for Christ in the five surrounding areas, which are Motejen, El Vergel, Los Lirios, Tres Picos, La Nueva and Franciso Leon. The people of these areas receive us in their homes and some are comprised of various families in a home, and have worked with children of those places. This month we had 6 decisions in Tres Picos. Unfortunately, one group closed in El Vergel, even though the group members no longer attend the Adventists church, their former pastor told them to stop receiving us in their home, and even though they no longer attend the Adventist church, they practice it as a Catholic who doesn’t attend mass. We also have a Catholic group in Tres Picos. Please pray that their priest would not tell them to do the same.

In every weekend Bible Study, the plan of salvation and the assurance of salvation in Christ Jesus are presented, but they still haven’t believed. Some (Adventists) think that the idea of obeying the commands is helpful and others (Catholics) that works are helpful, regardless of us telling them that doing those things is beneficial but that only Christ Jesus can save us and clean us from all sin.

We have to walk around one hour to get to each of the surrounding areas and the majority of the groups told us to go on Saturdays but there is no transportation available that day. To get to one area we have to go through two rivers and bridges. Brothers we need a vehicle in order to reach the deeper parts of the jungle.

During this month, our funds were at zero. Our income was not enough and we need it because we are going to enter more places. Also, Adan, my husband became ill with dysentery and I am still recovering from Salmonella which I got last month. We still don’t have enough funds to buy the colloidal silver that was recommended to us when we go out to preach in other areas, to avoid being harmed from the badly prepared food given to us in these areas. Pray so that we can go to a further distance and for a Church to be raised, and lastly, so that the Lord would open the heart of these people to the Gospel and for their language not to disappear.

We want to inform you of some things that we have found in the area in which we are working. First, the rent and transport costs are the highest within the Chiapas area in which we have worked and the costs of basic things have been greatly affected due to the inflation of our country. We have run into people that have the twisted idea that they are to receive money for everything. For example: take a picture, allow others to have access to the rivers in their area, listen to the Gospel and even to preach the Word of God to their neighbors and friends.

In the Zoque zone, specifically in Ocotepec, we have unfortunately identified a very high suicide rate. In both Ocotepec and Copainala, there is an organization called World Vision (Christian Organization), which is in charge of the Catholic natives of those areas. They only give humanitarian assistance and upon exhorting them to give the plan of salvation, they are bothered and say that they are not authorized to do so. But after that, they began to teach values to the kids. This is an unfortunate situation because we see that it is an unreached area where there is no Christian presence and these people have many resources to give the plan of salvation but choose not do so.

Also, we have noted that the people inside this area have the common practice of marrying with cousins of the same family and robberies are a very common criminal activity within these places. We could practically say that it is more common than the other areas where we have worked.

Hola mis amados hermanos, les damos las más sinceras gracias por su apoyo económico para nuestro trabajo misionero, también le doy muchas gracias a Dios porque el día 20 de marzo Dios me permitió cumplir un año más de vida, no pudimos festejar mi cumpleaños pero Dios nos concedió estar ese día en casa en compañía de mi mamá que vino de visita desde Huatulco.

Les amamos y oramos por cada uno de ustedes y gracias a ustedes podemos estar predicando en un lugar no alcanzado por la cual es la zona Zoque (Olmecas), región que casi no se conoce ya que el gobierno se preocupa por ellos y muchos grupos sociales ignoran, ya que no se quejan, porque siempre fueron esclavos de otros grupos étnicos y después de los grupos mestizos. Son gente dura para el evangelio en la cual la religión principal es la católica y en segundo lugar son adventistas. 

También terminamos la edición de la grabación del nuevo testamento en idioma Ch’ol, los traductores los cuales son ch’oles también terminaron la revisión de la Biblia para que pronto sea impresa nuevamente y posiblemente se publiquen los dos en audio y escrita al mismo tiempo por medio de sociedad Bíblica. Gracias a Dios terminamos el libreto de la Biblia y la subimos a internet para que esté disponible para que cualquiera lo pueda grabar en otro lenguaje étnico, costó mucho trabajo pero terminamos, en este libreto los cuales estuvimos trabajando desde octubre del año pasado lo hicimos en español y en ch’ol, lo cuales se dividen en personajes bíblicos para grabar el nuevo testamento en forma narrativa, por favor ayúdenos a orar para ayudar en el proyecto de la grabación de la película de Jesús en idioma Náhuatl de Guerrero la cual se ha atrasado.

Queremos empezar nosotros solos a grabar lo que son cantos en Zoque ya que hemos aprendido como hacer este trabajo, pero se necesita una buena computadora un programa especial, bueno se necesitan muchas cosas, también necesitamos un proyector para presentar películas cristianas en los poblados ya que eso abre muchas puertas, un anhelo de nosotros es abrir una casa hogar, en ese lugar.

Les comentamos que han habido muchas decisiones por Cristo, en los cinco poblados los cuales son Motejen, El vergel, Los lirios, Tres picos, La nueva, y Francisco León, estos son personas que nos reciben en sus hogares y en algunos son varias familias formando grupos en casa, también atendemos grupos de niños en estos lugares. Este mes tuvimos 6 decisiones en tres picos, por desgracia un grupo se cerró el cual es El vergel porque a pesar de que ya no asisten a la iglesia adventista el pastor fue a decirles que ya no nos recibieran y aunque ellos ya no van a su iglesia tienen esa religión como un católico que no asiste, oren porque tenemos un grupo de personas católicas también en Tres picos para que el sacerdote no le diga lo mismo.

Cada fin de semana de estudio bíblico, se le presenta el plan se salvación y la seguridad de la salvación en Cristo Jesús pero aún no lo creen, unos piensan que ayuda el obedecer a los mandamientos (adventistas) y otros las obras (católicos), aunque les decimos que hacer eso es bueno, pero no salva solo Cristo Jesús nos salva y nos limpia de todo pecado. 

Para llegar a los poblados es caminar alrededor de una hora en cada uno, la mayoría de los grupos nos dijeron que fuéramos los sábados y no hay trasporte ese día. Y en uno es pasar dos ríos no hay puentes, hermanos necesitamos un vehículo y así también poder entrar a lugares más adentro de la selva.

En este mes en particular nos quedamos en cero, los ingresos no fueron los suficientes y necesitamos de ellos ya que vamos a entrar a lugares más lejanos, y también mi esposo Adán se enfermó de disentería y yo aun con estragos de la salmonela que me dio el mes pasado, aun no completamos para comprar plata coloidal, que nos recomendaron para tomar cuando salgamos a predicar a otros poblados y no nos haga tanto daño la comida que en ocasiones no está bien preparada, oren para que podamos ir más lejos y predicar a más gente nueva y se forme ya una iglesia y por ultimo para que Dios le abra el entendimiento al evangelio y ayudar en que no se pierda su idioma.


Les queremos unas cosas que hemos encontrado dentro del área donde estamos trabajando; primero los costos de la renta y transporte son los más caros dentro del área de Chiapas donde hemos trabajando, y los costos de las cosas ya han sido afectados mucho por la inflación de nuestro país, nos hemos encontrado que las personas tiene la idea de que deben recibir dinero por todo como por ejemplo: tomar una foto, poder entrar a un arroyo dentro de su área donde viven, escuchar el evangelio y por predicar la palabra de Dios a sus vecinos y conocidos.


En esta zona Zoque en específico de Ocotepec hemos encontrado por desgracia una muy alta tasa de suicidios. En Ocotepec y Copainala, esta una organización llamada Word Vission, (organización cristiana) la cual está a cargo de católicos nativos de esos lugares, los cuales dan solo ayuda humanitaria y al comentarles que deben de dar el plan de salvación se molestan y dicen que no están autorizado para ello y solo después de eso les dan valores a los niños. Es lamentable esta situación ya que vemos que es una zona no alcanzada donde no hay presencia cristiana y ellos tienen muchos recursos para moverse y así presentar el plan de salvación y no lo hacen.

También hemos notado que la gente dentro de esta área es una práctica común el casarse con familia muy próxima es decir con primos de la misma familia, y también roban mucho la delincuencia es muy común dentro de estos lugares, podríamos decir que es más común que dentro de las otras áreas donde hemos trabajado.
